Does the synchronization methed used with SQL SVR 2000 Replication (merge, snapshot, etc.) avoid the problems I'm having with MS Access Direct Synchronization over a VPN (corruption of Access design master when VPN goes down during synchronization) ?

My experience mostly with transactional, it should survive a connection drop without any problems during distribution. Have not tested what happens if it were to occur during the initial snapshot though. Merge should be fine, it's designed to work disconnected anyway.

Transactional works just fine as long as the time before require resync is not met. I loose connections to or DR site occasionally for brief periods and replication will bark. SOmetimes it picks up next cycle, sometimes the retry count reaches a point where sync stops. Just start sync again and it is fine. Rarely thou the connection will be lost for the time threshold set in replication for the publication to expire trying and I will have to resync the publication from scratch. Small DB so I haven't looked at changing the time.
