This is quite the difficult task. A project plan is specific to an environment and should change depending on needs. The test plan will vary greatly from company to company. A project initiation document is also one that would change from company to company - but you could find some examples on the net - or get one from your company.

Hi Jason,
Thanks for getting back and agreed, of course they are specific to particular environments etc – it’s just simply to get a flavour of the depth a PID goes into – same with the others (Project and test plans) – purely to use as a base and tailor from there. Can you help?

Hey Jason, you’re a star. Thanks for the link. No Project initiation document though – interested in reading the lifecycle – from PID to deployment incl. of regression testing, resource requirements etc etc Cheers again

Still here Jase – you don’t have a ‘completed’ PID (project initiation document) and or project plan for a SQL upgrade project - 2000 to 2008. It’s going to be the best and easiest way for me to get an overview quickly from start to finish. Appreciate your help. J x

Sorry, I do not.
I imagine there might be something available from a google search though.
