Hi,
I had an unsuccessful SP3 installing for SQL server 2000 on the WIN 2003 Enterprise version. After trying the start the SQL agent I have received the following error message:
"An error 1053 (The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.) occurred while
performing this service operation on the SQLServerAgent service. "
I reviewed the above item within Microfost support website, and after running the following command :
"sqlagent -i[Instance Name] -c -v" I have recieved anothr error message that says :
"SQLAGENT.exe - Entry Point Not Found the procedure entry point SFMapi0GetProfiles could not be located in the dynamic link library SEMMAP.dll"
I do appreciate if let me know how can I fix this problem. can I unregister the "SEMMAP.dll" file on the SERVER and copy another one and register on the SERVER or not?
Thanks for your prompt response.

Thanks for your response. However I am afraid if I am going to reinsrall the SP3 again as an update version, the current database that is running in our SERVER will be damaged. So If this scenario is wrong I think that would be the best way, however If it will be effected on our database which solution you will be recommended.
Thanks again.

I don't think reinstalling sp3 again will cause any damage your dbs...
I did even on cluster servers...
Make sure you have valid backups incase your server crashes while applying sp3...
