First of all, I am a newbie in SQL DBA.(planning to change my career from programming to dba :-))
After crossing through different error messages during the installation of SQL server 2005! I am so much confused and moreover learnt so many new things, but atlast installed sql server 2005 (Developer Edition).
My queries are.

Note: I've installed a named instance with sql server services, analysis services and integration services in drive D (not in drive C)... with windows authenication.
a. I've configured every services to local system service account (is it correct, why domain account is not working for me???)
b. after installation when i try to open the SSMS, i've got an error like " The automatically saved settings file cannot be found. you can change this file on the import and export settings...... tools options page.........(please anyone can u help me on this).
c. and then after i clicked ok button when i got the above message and when connecting to database engine. again i've got
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)
