SQL express 2005 tcp/Ip service cannot started

  Hi,

  In SQL server configuration manager,when I set tcp/ip protocol property enabled=true and started service of SQLEXPRESS then it is giving following error.

  "The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion. Consult the event log or the other applicable error logs for details."

  please give solution for this error.

  Did you look at the Event Log? Please post the details of your findings so we may help you arrive at a solution.
