Database mail

  • Hi Guys

I have setup Database mail in SQL 2008 and everything works fine.

Is it possible when i send an email to a user(mailbox) that doesn't exist at my organisation the "Bounce back" goes into the database?

    Cheers

    Alistair:-)

  • Hi

Email will not be delivered and it will not bounce back to the DB.

Instead you will get a similar Delivery Failed email back to you.

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

    Subject:Test message

    Sent:07/16/10 5:59 PM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached: test@gmail.com on 07/16/10 5:59 PM

The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.

SMTP; xxxx-x.x.x.x The email account that you tried to reach does not exist. Please try>

    Thank You,

    Best Regards,
