New install of SQL Server 2005 missing PERMISSIONS option in Server Properties Window

  • I'm in a new organization which has network techs install SQL Server on new servers, not one of the DBAs.

I was handed a new server yesterday, huge deadline to create new users to allow vendor access. When I go to the Server Properties window, there is no PERMISSIONS option. ADVANCED is the last one that shows.

I don't think it's an access issue because when I log in as sa I get the same problem as I do when I'm logged in under Windows authorization.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Trisha

  • Solved. The tech installed a desktop version of SQL 2005. I wanted the PERMISSIONS option because I'm following a vendor's protocol for their setup needs. Thanks, all.
