Does SSIS required to create Maintenances plans in SQL Server 2005?

  Hi,

  I have Installed SSIS in- order to create Maintenance palns. Later came to know that, SSIS is NOT required to create Maintenance plans. But I would like to have a BOL link where it says that SSIS is NOT required to create Maintenance plans?

  My goal is to Uninstall SSIS if that is NOT required to create Maintenance plans.

  After going through the above 2 links, I assume that you DO NOT need SSIS to create and run maintenance plans if you have:

  SQL Server 2005 with SP2 or higher or

  SQL Server 2008 with SP1

  So you can safely uninstall SSIS from the cluster node
