Access to SQL

  • We currently have an access database with a front and a back end. The front end is via VB.

We are looking to convert it to sql server and wanted an outline of how we should go about the entire process.

  • Use http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx

In the input box type: "upsizing access to sql server" it will return some 650 links to articles, scripts, blog postings that discuss this question. If you can not obtain the required assistance from those, return and post your specific problem(s).

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

  • In addition to what Ron notes, spend the time to learn T-SQL. Access querying and T-SQL querying are just not the same.
