I'm curious why, when you want query optimization, one of your requirements is having worked in any relational database. As I'm sure you're aware, the engine is as important as the syntax. It seems an odd choice, especially when wanting someone familiar with MDX and cubes.
Never stop learning, even if it hurts. Ego bruises are practically mandatory as you learn unless you've never risked enough to make a mistake.
