can't preview data in flat file destination task

    I have an OLE DB task that pulls all data from a table and exports it to a flat file. When I setup the OLE DB task I am able to preview the data. Next I add the flat file destination, connect the two tasks with the precedence constraint, double click on the flat file task and the editor opens. I configure a new flat file connection manager as delimited and choose the location for the file. I go to the columns page but no columns show up. I go to the Preview page and no data shows up. However, if I run the package, it works and the data is exported to the file. Why can't I see the preview data?

    How do you expect to see the destination data? The data flow task has to execute and load the data from the source into the destination. I think the behavior you see is fine.
