Notification alert to a Pager thru a SQL Agent Job(SQL Server 2005)

  Hi all,

  I am trying to send an alert to my pager(eg :8734356232@skytel.com) after completion of a SQL Agent job(SQL Server 2005).

  Initially i was able to do this with an email to my inbox after the SQL Agent job is processed and in order to do this i have followed the procedure of checking the alert check box in SQL Agent properties and then restarted SQL Agent and it worked exceptionally well.

  But now i have the need to change that to a pager as the ON CALL person will need to respond immediately after receiving any job failure notifications sent to his\her pager.

  Any ideas will be greatly appreciated...

  Are you using Operators? You can define a pager address in the operator and set the hours you want the pager to be paged.
