The database growth job failed

    The job was set so that when it failed a job failure would write to the operating system's event log. Occasionaly the job for checking database growth fails. However, the event log does not provide me with enough information why the job failed. How can I find out?

    I appears that the job owner is sa. However, sa can not open up a particular databas to carry out the task of 'Check Database Growth'.

    Does anyone know the fix?

    does the SQL Error log provide any further assistance?

    Is the database in question in a non-usable state? (ie being restored? a mirrored database?, etc)
