70-447 coming up...

  • I'm sitting for the upgrade this coming Saturday if all goes well. Has anyone taken it yet?

If so, how did it go? Better or worse than 431?

Just trying to get myself psyched up for it. It'll be a nice Christmas present for myself when I pass. (Gotta think positive here. @=)

  • Good luck.

I'm writing this one on friday morning. Still need to work through two of the course guides. :Whistling:

Shall we compare results monday morning?

  • The exam wasn't that bad. Much easier than I was expecting. Easier than 441 or 442.

It's pretty much the same format as the other ITP exams. No major surprises. It is longer however

One small piece of advice - know your security, backwards.

    Got 891. Not bad

  • Well, I passed. Should have rescheduled though. I hurt my back a few days before the exam, so didn't do as well as I wanted to because all I could think about was how much pain I was in sitting in the exam room.

One thing I should mention to everyone thinking of taking it. The Case Studies have a LOT of extraneous information in them. I cannot stress enough that you should skim them first instead of trying to memorize them. You don't have enough time to memorize them unless you have edidic memory and can speed read.

Also, there's a neat little button called "All Information" (which the Transcenders didn't have) which you can use to view the entire study instead of just portions of it. This made things a little easier for me because I didn't have to constantly click between "Planned Changes" and "Technical Requirements". Just had to scroll down.

Wicked scary. A couple of the questions referenced stuff we had done at my workplace. Has MS been spying on people? @=)

  • I've taken quite a few of those kind of tests (all the way back to my Win2K MCSE). You really have to filter out the extraneous info. It always helped me to read the questions first, then go find the information i needed to answer them. There's just too much to read otherwise (and I read quickly).

Overall, I didn't think 70-447 was too bad. Then again, I didn't think that 70-431 was too hard either. I'd really just prefer the straightforward, applicable TYPE of questions they used to ask, instead of the gimmick ones. They had to try to make the tests harder to just cram for using cheat sites, but I don't think they came up with a very effective method.
