Backup and Restoration Error

    Dear All,

       Iam facing a frequent problem while taking the diff backup.

    The backup data in 'I:\DIFF\globaldb' is incorrectly formatted. Backups cannot be appended, but existing backup sets may still be usable.

    and when i am restoring to a standby server when the diff backup was successful. Iam getting the error as cannot associate file with different databases.

    Take all backups to separate files. You never know when you might have an issue with the file and then you lose multiple backups. There are scripts on this site and others to help you name files with the date/time in the filename and make it easy to find files.
