  • This sounds like two very different jobs for one salary. Considering it would demand at least 60 hours per week to perform adequately, I would expect the salary to be in the range of $160k - $180k.

  • Hi James,

We currently have someone in this role now, (we're expanding the group and adding another manager) and that manager is usually here about 50 hrs a week, which is about average for anyone here.

Although it may seem overwhelming, its actually a fair balance between some of the hands on work within the DB, and some mentoring/leading role in the department.

Unfortunately the salary isn't as high as you had anticipated, but we still feel with the entire package (vacation and stock options and 80% of benes paid for)  it is very competitive in the DC Market.

Thanks for the comments, always nice to know someone's reading.

  • Thanks for the reply, Peter. 50 hours per week, you say? Thank the Maker I'm a contractor

    James Stover, McDBA

  • I know, it sounds killer, doesn't it? Honestly, we're pretty flexible on hours here. James, if you have a moment (I'm not even sure if you are located in the DC Area) please do contact me. I'd like to see if the two of us can network a bit more in depth.
