  • What happens when you connect through QA?

If nothing else works, you could try reinstalling just the client tools.

  • Hi,

    I got the same error.

I installed the client tools only but now the error is diffrent.

    No default instance.

So, i registered the DSO files but stil the same error.

  • Are you running Query Analyzer from the same machine that has SQL Server?

If not, 1) has a new firewall been installed? or any changes to an existing firewall?

    2) Are you using XP and recently installed SP2 for XP? - this has a builtin firewall and blocks SQL Server.

    3) Can you PING the SQL Server computer?

Do you have access to the SQL Server computer? Can you check to see:

    1. you still have an account?

    2. what port it is listening on?

    3. any login errors?

  • Hi Everyone,

Error : Snap in creatin failed.

The snap is not created ,it may not be installed properly.

    CLSID:{}

    How to resolve error:

    The above  error means that

DSO is not working or no longer exists or not supported by sql server.

This happens when anysoftware uses the same dll files used by sql server and been deleted in unstalling that software.

    These files are as follows

    msmddo80.dll

    msmddo.dll

    msmdlock.dll

    msmdnet.dll

    msmdso.rll

just copy these files and the location where they are installed and register them on the server.

and try to restart the slql srever.

Hope this help all of u.
