  hi

  Im running the performance monitor and my program which has a dozen SP's is using between 4 and 84 percent of the processor... i want to catch th process or SQL statment which is chucking away 80% or the processor....

  i tried using the trace but i cant find the right counter/column.

  i need some help in identifying the process/statement...

  im a developer also doing admin on SQL 2000.

  You can monitor the queries with sql profiler. Check on cpu, read, writes.

  Have you checked the table scan, sql compilations, recompilations / sec counters in performance monitor?
