I have SQL Server Enterprise Manager Icon on the laptop given to me by my company. But when I click on it, I get "Add/Remove Snap-in Control" window. When I close that, I get an error from Microsoft Management Console saying it has encountered an error and needs to close down.
How do I ensure that Enterprise Manager is installed correctly?

Go to Administrative Tools Event Viewer, Click on application.
Are there any Application errors? if so click on it, and post the actual error message.

I'm not sure mmc.exe, and mmcndmgr.dll are more part of windows than sql server.
EM uses the mmc node to manage sql server. It appears that the dll is having problems/corrupt.
Search on the mmcndmgr.dll in google and see if there is anything out there to help.

Hi,
I am not sure what is happening with u but if sql server workes fine in the office then ur DBA or Networkadmin had ristricted or defined permission.
Or it may be client installation.
