JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design and analysis of high-capacity, mission-critical Microsoft SQL Server 2000 databases (>300 trans/sec., >500GB online data)
• Maintain multi-server/multi-DB installation including replication, backup, job scheduling
• Assist developers with DB access using recent Microsoft technologies (.NET, C#, IIS, etc.)
• Design and implement database development guidelines with the individual departments
• Design, implement, and/or review database schema, queries, and stored procedures
• Profile DB performance and create guidelines/suggestions to maximize performance
• Establish automated auditing and monitoring procedures to enforce DB security and integrity
• Availability for emergency maintenance 24x7 (requires remote computing skills)
• Experience with real-time data acquisition and/or financial transactions useful
• Document enhancements and modifications to the existing DB infrastructure
