I'm looking for a zero footprint web query tool for a distributed user base. Were running SQL2K on Win2K. We have OLAP available for querying.
Cognos and Crystal want a bazillion dollars. Anything out there for someone with champagne tastes and beer pockets?
Thanks,
Dave

We're looking for similar. Brio is cheaper than Cognos, but not cheap. Business Objects potentially cheaper than Brio. All work with a meta data layer that to me is nicer than how Crystal embeds the info in the rpt.

I don't if this matches you need. In my spare time I spent a lot of time at http://www.sourceforge.net. I've seen there a lot of projects about reports and report generating. Maybe it's worth a try?
Cheers,
Frank

Thanks for the responses. I really appreciate the help!
I saw a thread discussing a "Thin web OLAP reporting tool" found in the SQL2K Resource Kit here: http://www.sqlmag.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=10&threadid=9955
Further, there's an example implementation here: http://www.utcodes.org/queryabledata/queryabledata.htm
Has anyone here tried to use this option? On the surface, it looks pretty powerful. I'm just wondering the level of difficulty and maintenance?
Thanks,
Dave

I saw the reference, haven't checked it out. Would be interested to hear about it if you do.
