When my backup of the log files are running
I first get a failed due to the fact that it can not delete the old files as specfied.
Secondly what is the biger problem my SQL goes down and restart. I am running the same job on various servers and only have the problem on one server. Can anyone please help.
It did it for a while and then the problem dissapeared. Now it has started again.

I would check the SQL Server log and the Event Viewer for any suspicious or valuable information that may explain why SQL Server is going down when you backup log files.

I can not see any reason in any of the log files. The error log just states that SQL terminated unexpectedly and that is all. Here is the line that it displays in the error log file:
11/08/2003 12:00:26 - ! [012] The MSSQLServer service terminated unexpectedly

Service dropping is pretty severe. Sure you're deleting the right files? SQL should have its files locked, dont know what else you could delete that would matter. You're using a maint job to do this? What version of SQL and what SP?
