SQL 2K Performance Issues

    Hi,

    One of the database(13GB) have been attached to SQL2K from SQL7 and observed that poor perf. (quries/SP) on SQL2K.

    attached the DB with : sp_attach_db

    Updated the stats with sp_updatestats

    Pl. suggest ASAP.

    Have you recompiled anything? Perhaps reindex? Is this sp performance or query or both?

    When reindexing put your recovery model to bulk-logged or your log will grow by the size of the rebuild data..

    But don't let this discourage you, you will find perfomance gain by dbcc-reindexing your tables. (never say never - always say maybe)

    Since you are in a migration, IMO it's better to do it right away or your user will smash you with performance-issues which may not have occured in the first place
