Something need your help.
The story is that I have one oracle instance inside one firewall, and one sql server outside the firewall. Now I am trying to install one standalone Enterprise Manager inside this firewall to help the SQL server to import the data from the oracle instance. I want to know its backend mechanism: whether it is that the standalone enterprise manager makes a spool first and then "push" the data to the sql server outside the firewall, or this standalone enterprise manager just triggers the sql server to "pull" the data out of firewall from oracle or from that enterprise manager?
This is what i am not so sure and this affects the firewall's work. Hope somebody can bring me some information on this. And, is there anyway that oracle can "push" data to sql server directly instead using the sql server to "pull" the data out of the firewall?
Many thanks.

If you run the movement from the Standalone EM not on the SQL Server then the data crosses the machine EM is on. Pulled from Oracle and Pushed to SQL. That is as long as I understood you correctly. As for Oracle push the answer is no, not on it's own, and I know of no third party products.
