Database Size Survey

By Site Owners, (first published: 2011/07/01)

SQLServerCentral has built a survey asking for the counts of your databases by the various sizes in your environment. We would prefer data sizes instead of raw database size, and those Exceptional DBAs out there are likely tracking this by the full backup sizes taken regularly.

Please take a few minutes and answer this survey if you have the informaiton. We will publish the results in a few weeks and also will use this information to help us tailor some content on the site to meet the needs of the audience.

The survey is here: Please feel free to pass this link along to friends.

To prepare you for the survey, we are looking for the number of databases that you have in each of these size categories:

  • < 100MB
  • 101MB - 1GB
  • 2GB - 20GB
  • 21GB - 100GB
  • 101GB - 500GB
  • 501GB - 1TB
  • 1.01TB - 10TB
  • > 10TB
