  • Jason Carter on That Awkward Moment When I Started Channeling Brent Ozar:
We are the same person, hands in the air walking away-wise any how.

I’m not smarter than the entire Dev team, or the vendor. i need to also swallow that pill and make that change as well. Great article BTW.

  • realsqlguy on That Awkward Moment When I Started Channeling Brent Ozar:
Thanks. It’s definitely a hard change to make, but it’s getting easier. I’m reading a book right now (review coming soon) that has given me a new way to look at things, and it has honestly helped me to stop, recognize when I’m about to go into hand-waving mode, and choose a different response. And it feels good.

Care to share the name before the review?
  • realsqlguy on That Awkward Moment When I Started Channeling Brent Ozar:
    It’s called “Winning From Within” – http://www.amazon.com/Winning-Within-Breakthrough-Leading-Lasting-ebook/dp/B00BATINRC
  • T_Diddy_99 on Do You Need A Log Recovery Tool?:
Another good tool for log recovery is Toad for SQL Server by Quest (Dell)
  • Jason Carter on Thaw, Rinse, Repeat – #SQLPlunge:
I grew up volunteering for various Special Olympics events, while I totally detest the cold, your repeated and slightly insane idea of fun it admirable. Where do I donate? I only see the join the team option?
  • realsqlguy on Thaw, Rinse, Repeat – #SQLPlunge:
Thanks Jason! You can’t donate to the team as a whole, you have to choose one of the team members. Click on one of the team member names, and that will take you to that person’s pledge page. There you’ll see “Make a pledge” links scattered throughout.
  • –Jeff Moden on Do You Need A Log Recovery Tool?:
As you say, there may be other complications to consider but being able to find the deleted data is more than half the battle. Thanks you for taking the time to post this.
