Starting up a Pass Chapter

I am on my way in setting up a Pass chapter on our tiny Caribbean island. I had no clue how to go about it. First I contacted Gail Shaw. She gave me some valuable tips. Then I got in touch with Andy Warren. He send me a reply within an hour asking Blythe and Greg to help me out with the details.

Blythe send me documents pertaining to it. Currently I am going through them. There are quite a few legal things I have to take care of. I have make a constitution and Bylaws for the chapter. I have to find a place where I can have the meeting regularly. It is not going to be easy, but I want to do it. I am sure it will take time to set this up, but I will hopefully prevail in it. There are lots of developers here who use SQL Server. I am sure I can get them to become members. Now the only thing I am trying to see are couple of Corporate Sponsors. I am sure I will get atleast one.

Bill Wunder is also helping me with this. He contacted some friends of his who are good in their feild and they have replied positively about coming to the island and giving couple of Seminars. Hopefully all of you will be able to help me set this up by giving me pointers and giving me moral support.

Nice start...also I and my friend are in the road to organize the first meeting for our Chapter in Kosova-Albania!

Sure that the first person for the Chapter is:

Greg & Blythe!

Success with your Chapter in your island!

Best of luck setting up the chapter and hope it goes well. The important thing is to start slow. Meet every other month, and be interesting. I'm sure it will be a challenge on an island, but do your best.

Congrats on your efforts ! The team at PASS will be great support. Let me know if you need speakers. I can contribute on a large number of 100 - 400 level topics, especially around BI.

What island are you on? Feel free to email me at ajorgensen@pragmaticworks.com so we can connect.
