Manage Reporting Services using SSMS

Sometimes you’ll want to manage reporting services functionality through SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). This would be the case if you want to manage Jobs (subscriptions), Security or Shared Schedules. To connect to your reporting services instance, fire up SSMS and then choose Reporting Services as the Server type as shown in figure 1.

Then enter the url to your Report Server as shown above, verify the authentication method (in my case Windows Authentication) and hit Connect. If you already have SSMS running, you could click on the Connect button in the Object explorer and select Reporting Services as shown in figure 2. You will then be prompted for the same details as shown in figure 1 above.

And that’s all there is to it! Now you can manage various aspects to your Report Server, directly in SQL Server Management Studio as shown in figure 3 below.
