SQL Saturday - Columbia, SC - October 2, 2010

This is the official announcement that we are officially scheduled for holding a SQL Saturday in Columbia, SC, on October 2, 2010. We have a bit of information to track down with regards to sponsorship, recommended hotel,  and the like and then we'll be ready to turn on the SQL Saturday site and announce call for speakers. We're really excited as we'll be looking at a brand new set of facilities thanks to the Consortium for Enterprise Systems Management.

The core group was part of the Columbia Code Camp back in January and we're definitely looking to apply the lessons from that experience to SQL Saturday. Good coffee, decent food (ColaCC provided lunches for free and we're looking to get sponsorship to do the same) and great speakers/talks were things we heard accolades for. Better signage, better environmentals (one room was too hot, another a bit chilly), and lack of wireless connectivity were some of the things we heard we could do better on. So we're looking to keep the positives and improve on the negatives to make SQL Saturday - Columbia a great event for training and networking. Stay tuned for more information soon!

Very cool, and congrats. I would love to come, but you're bumping up against a couple other events there that likely will prevent me from getting to SC.

Has this event been canceled?  I don't see any info on the net anymore for it.
