SQL Server 2005 SP2 CTP Available for Download

The Community Technology Preview (CTP) version SQL Server 2005 SP2 has been released by Microsoft. You can find the download here:

http://www.microsoft.com/sql/ctp.mspx

There appear to be some changes on the database engine side that may raise a few eyebrows:
  • SP2 Maintenance Plans cannot be read by earlier versions of the SQL Server 2005 tools.
  • Some performance counters aren't visible in Performance Monitor.
There are changes on Analysis Services and Reporting Services as well.

The only information I've seen is 1Q 2007, so by March.

Please check out http://blogs.msdn.com/sqlprogrammability/ for a series of articles on the Plan Cache and improvements made to the plan cache in SQL Server 2005 SP2. The articles also have a number of examples and queries on plan cache related DMVs that you may find useful.
