RBAR is "A" Modenism???

  • O.K., I'm one of many thousands who've benefited from Jeff Moden's wit, wisdom, and humor. And every one of his blogs, articles, or posts ends with this:

"RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for "Row-By-Agonizing-Row".

Now I hate to sound like a pedantic twit, but when Jeff says a Modenism, it implies that there are more. To borrow from programming, "RBAR" is but a member of the class Modenism.

So, am I the only one wondering where in heck are the other members of this class?

    Jeff??

    Thanks for all your contributions,

    Rich

  • Heh... Wow! I just found this post. I guess I've been busy.

As you surmise, there are quite a few other "Modenisms". Unfortunately, being an old submarine sailor, most are not fit for print. 😛

And thank you all for the very kind words.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
