Certification 70-443 and 70-444

    Hi,

    I know that 70-431 exam has both MULTIPLE CHOICE and SIMULATION type questions.

    But...

    Could anyone who have taken 70-443 and 70-444 exams tell me whether those exams contain SIMULATION questions along with the MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS or not?

    Hi,

    I have done all 3.

    70-431 has simulations and multiple choice.

    70-443 is a case study based exam, mine was 6 case studies with between 7 and 13 multiple choice questions per case study. It also included a few questions where you have to put activities in the correct order, for example restoring from a failure. I didn't get any simulations but as there is a big bank of questions doesn't guarantee they wont be in there. This is a pretty horrible exam but provided you go through the training kit materials thoroughly and have experience with at least most of the subjects you should be fine.

    70-444 is pretty much the same as 70-443 but is not based on case studies. I personally found this the least difficult exam.

    The training kit can be found on amazon and is a particularly good buy for helping to pass the exam.

    It took me about 15 months to do all 3 but that was studying up part time.

    Worth it in the end though as you will get both the MCTS and MCITP Certs.

    Also if you get the exam training software from http://www.selftestsoftware.com it's worth while. This is not braindumps but instead example questions to help you prepare for the exams and includes some simulations. It also has a particularly good learning mode which explains all the questions and links into BOL for more info.

    I think that jives with what I remember. Be sure that you read the case studies carefully, and most of the study guides should help you with this.

    I would use the Mircosoft Press training kit book, you should be able to get it on Amazon.

    I have the training kit by MS already :).

    The book doesn't seem to cover everything, so want to know, what else is available for the certification which is good.

    the book does cover everything you need for the exam, the only other real substitute is experience and practice.

    I would recommend the testing software from

    http://www.selftestsoftware.com.

    This helps assess your knowledge with realistic questions and detailed answers should you need more help.

    That particular exam is fairly easy and if you have already passed the MCTS exam then its more of the same.
