Cant open the job activity monitor for SQL Server 2005 with SSMS 2008

  Hi everybody,

  I have just installed SQL Server Management Studio 2008 Express and when I am connected to an instance of SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2000 with it, I can´t open my Job activity monitor, because raise this error when I try to do it:

  Cannot show requested dialog.

  Unable to execute requested command.

  jobs (SqlManagerUi)

  Someone knows what I must to do?

  i think you need to upgrade your service pack

  Anyone had any luck fixing this? I'm on SQL 2008 R2 Express trying to access 2005 and 2000 machines and I'm getting the same message as the OP.

  i have sql server 2008/2005 with standard edition on my laptop and its works.

  Might be with lower version like express the facility is not provided......
