'Page cannot be displayed' error when accessing SSRS 2005 default site over VPN

  • Hello - Using SSRS 2005 default installation on Server 2003 R2. I can get to the site just fine when I'm at work. However, when I try to get to it from home, via VPN, my browser (IE6) gives me a 'page cannot be displayed' error message. When I log in via VPN it's using integrated security linking me to our domain. I can even get to the default IIS web page for that particular server via VPN. It seems to be very specific to the SSRS virtual site.

    Thoughts?

  • Since it's 2k5 on server 2k3 you're using IIS. Anything to note in either a) your security event log, b) application event log, c) SQL log, or most probably d) your IIS logfiles (%systemroot%\system32\Logfiles\W3SVC#\). Most likely you'll see some 403 (security) errors in your IIS logs relating to the time. They may be able to point you into the correct direction. Perhaps you are filtering by IP in your IIS Settings and those requests are being dropped because they come from somewhere other than your local LAN? Again your IIS logs will tell you what IP you were coming from when you received your 403 error. Check that against your security settings...
