    I imagine few people will upgrade. The licensing costs went up significantly after 2008. I know we'll only upgrade when the risk committee can't take it anymore (being behind that is).

    As of a few months ago, i found a instance of SQL 7.0(!) installed on a box i had no idea existed until someone mentioned that it was failing a security audit.

    I am fortunate enough to rarely be involved in upgrade decisions. It does seem to be a risky either way and my character sometimes dislikes the murky grey area of known unknowns (thanks Rumsfeld).
