Hi All,

I was trying to do Database mail configuration from gmail.

But I cant send Text mail. Its failing with below error.

I have used

SMTP server name: smtp.gmail.com Port number: 587

Please help me :




Error,18,The mail could not be sent to the recipients because of the mail server failure. (Sending Mail using Account 1 (2014-03-22T20:12:00). Exception Message: Cannot send mails to mail server. (The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.5.1 Authentication Required. Learn more at).

Can you try 'ssl://smtp.gmail.com', and port '465'

you can't use anonymous authentication, sounds like you left the SMTP authentication section blank.
587 is for non-SSL i thought.
