SQL 2012 Evaluation - upgrade to Developer Edition

  • Hi: I thought I asked this but it seems to have vanished!

I am trying to install the Developer edition after having had the Evaluation for nearly 180 days.

It refuses to accept the licence key and goes no further when upgrading but will accept it if I try a standalone installation.

My concern is making sure I continue to have access to my data and code as created under the Eval edition.

Is there a way to install over - as there appears to be when upgrading to a 'pure' Enterprise edition or do I have to install and migrate?

If the latter, how do I get rid of the Eval versions including all the tools or do they stay in place?

Sorry if this sounds a bit long-winded or naive but the pressure's on and I've had about 4 hours sleep in the last 72!

    Cheers,

    Nick
