Unable to see databases from Enterprise Manager

  • Hello!

    This is an emergency...

We have installed a SQL Server 2000 in cluster (with veritas cluster server), at this moment we suddenly had a problem, any user even DBA's cannot get connecter to the database server. it seems to be a problem in the network devices, wire and cables... something about the fiber wires... after checking and reparing these things, we could get connected to the SQL Server, but only through Query Analyzer and Profiler, but when I access to the Enterpise Manager i get connected to the server, but when I try to expand Databases it's impossible to see them!, I can't do it in my PC and I can't do it in the server, I've already reinstalled the complete SQL in my PC and it doesn't work.

I'd appreciate any comments... thanks a lot...

  • Have you checked the firewalls? Have you tried changing ports on your connection to the ports allowed for SQL Server?

  • If you are getting connected to SQL Server, then you should see databases. If you uninstalled and reinstalled, did you re-attach databases? If not, they won't be there.

If this is a big emergency, call Microsoft.
