2008-10-07 19:14:58.47 Server TDSSNIClient initialization failed with error 0x7e, status code 0x60.

I disabled the VIA protocal then started my services are started successfully, Here my question is

    What is VIA?

Why the SQL Server is not starting when I enable VIA?

What I should do to start the SQL Server services after enabling the VIA?

    Thanks

  • BOL says,

Virtual Interface Adapter (VIA) protocol works with VIA hardware. Consult your hardware vendor for information about using VIA.

    Question:-

    1. Why do you need to enable VIA ?

    2. Do you have VIA hardware ?

  • I do not have any requirement to enable the VIA, Just I was testing the protocals and my server did't start, So just I would like to know what it is,

Thanks for your reply your reply is useful for me.

    Thanks
