    thank u alot.

  • Hi,

You can change the recovery model "on the fly", users do not have to log off during the change. No restart of MSSQL is required.

Make sure you implement a transaction log backup, or your logfile will become (very) large.

  • Make sure that you have enough free space for the transaction logs and keep monitoring for a few days on the transaction log size and the required frequency of taking log backup

  • Thank .i suggested this to my pm.but she did not give approval for me.once again thanks.

  • Do you know why you have/want to change the recovery model? It seems you're stuck in a very strange situation.

The recovery model has to met with the company's recovery strategy. If your company can't allow to loose production data for say more than 1 hour, full recovery is a must (let them calculate how much it will cost in case of a restore from yesterday). Of course it will result in some additional actions by you, but hey, that's your job 😉

Make sure they are aware of this situation and the consequences of it.

    Good luck!
