error MSSQL 2000 a connection could not be established to (local)

  • i have an error :

error MSSQL 2000 a connection could not be established to (local) Reason: [SQL-DMO]SQL Server(local) must be upgrade to version 7.0 or later to be administered

    by this version of SQL-DMO

this happen while i'm open enterprise manager microsoft SQL Server -> SQL Server Group -> local DB

Is there a solution for this case ??

  • Sounds like you are trying to administer a pre- SQL 7.0 database and its objects.

Did you upgrade from 6.5 to 7, or 7 to 2000?

I just installed SQlServer2k and then SQL2KSP4. After running about a week

    and then the error showed.

  • What happens when you stop and restart the sql services?

    Has any password expired?
