We work with a company called
Devsphere
who are based in the UK for our website hosting, database hosting (SQL 2005, 2008), Virtual Servers and Physical Co-Location. Might be worth asking them if they could help.

We have SQL servers hosted with two different providers that we are happy with:
SoftLayer
Database Mart
Both of these have been very reliable in production for 3 years or so. SoftLayer offers more services and a richer self-service portal. Database Mart is less expensive.
Note that we have not had either company provide database mangement services: we have managed the servers ourselves. (Physical dedicated servers.)
We have also worked with
Saca Technologies
who have provided a managed SQL server environment as well as management services of self-hosted servers. They have been good to work with too, though their primary focus seems to be on hosted desktops. They tend to use virtual servers, but if you have specific requirements be sure to clearly outline them and they will meet your requirements.

The question I have is what are you looking for exactly? Just a SQL Server host? You don't want to or don't have any SQL licenses yourself? You could look at Amazon Web Services (AWS) they offer windows machines with SQL server, the cost can be a little high, depending on how much power you need..
I have had good luck with dailyrazor.com, they offer SQL with their web server packages.

Since the original post is 11 months old, with no follow up, I would think a solution has been found.
