hi,
I need to restore a database (sql 2000) from a server in the domain to a server not in the domain. Is there a way without sharing the folder like sharing the backup file. How do i find/locate whatever I share when one server is not in the domain.

If the server you want to restore to is connected to the network, then you can copy over just the backup file(s) you want and restore to the new server, specifying where you want the database and log files to go.
