Convert an XML file to a PDF report

  • I have a project where the goal is to convert all the xml files in a given directory to a pdf file.

my thought was to do the following:

1.build a variable datasource to connect to the xml file and build a report.

2.build a subscription for the report to render it into a pdf format and save it somewhere on the network

3.build an ssis package that would run the job for that subscription every time an xml file is put on the directory.

I would like to hear if someone has a suggestion or a different approach to accomplish the same thing in a more efficient manner.

Please let me know if you have any ideas.

  • Hi Sandra...:)

    Best Regards frend !!

I think...you have choosen the correct option to convert an XML file into a PDF format file..

Well, I came across such situation once and I also tried to go with the Windows File Share Subscription only, where I can build and run the particular subscription converting my XML / RDL files into the desired Report Format such as PDF (as in ur case..), EXCEL, MHTML etc..etc...

    So..I guess...it the correct option..:)

If u come across any other good way to acheive the same..please share with me too...

    Thanks,

  • Hi, Sandra.

As for me, I have seldom tried to convert an XML file to a PDF report. I wonder have you ever worked it out? Do I need another 3rd party manual toolkit? When it comes to PDF converting process, I have another question, I wonder have you ever tried to convert pdf to other image files[/url] before? As for myself, I am testing the related PDF to PNG converting, PDF to BMP converting , and PDF to JPG converting programs these days. Do you have experience about it? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Best regards,

    Pan
