Hi all,
Is there a way I can access and query emails stored in Outlook 2003 from SQL 2005/2008? If anyone can direct a weblink for more information or post detailed information is apprecaited. Thanks.

| I have never done this. This would lead to a huge security hole and a million other problems. Consider having an application layer do this for you. It will be easier, faster, and more secure. Would you mind laying out why you feel the DB needs to connect directly to exchange? I am sure we can come up with something without exchange and sql having direct conn.

| Thanks for the update. If this is going to create security worries, is it possible import inbox saved as a file. We are planning to do some analysis on email received/sent on a monthly bases.

That sounds kind of cheesey. Have you research the exchanged API or development kits. You could proably get faster help on an exchange message board. Sorry cant point you to any of those boards, I view Email as a virus in the data tier. Most DBA still use snail mail for interoffice communication anyway
Good luck!!!
