SQL Agent not visible in SSMS via remote connections

  • I have a user who can only see the SQL Agent Folder in SSMS when she is on the server via Remote Desktop - when she connects to the server remotely using the SSMS on her desktop, it is just not there.

    What needs to change?

  • Does it mean:: you can see the SQL Agent folder but nothing underneath OR You cannot see the SQL Server Agent Folder even.

  • Cannot see the folder at all.

  • The reason is because u dont have permission...

  • what logins do you use for SSMS/rdc?

  • It definitely sounds like she's using two different permission sets or that the client tools on her workstation were installed wrong.

What perms does she have? Does she log into the server with a different login than what she uses on her desktop?

  • What client are you using on the workstation?
