Hello evrybody,
I just discoverd that one of our servers comes with an MSDTC error after restarting the server.The errormessage is:
Event_ID 4404: MS DTC Tracing infrastructure : the initialization of the tracing infrastructure failed. Internal Information : msdtc_trace : File: d:\nt\com\complus\dtc\dtc\trace\src\tracelib.cpp, Line: 1107, StartTrace Failed, hr=0x80070070
Since there is no drive d:\nt\.... o r file tracelib.cpp I was looking in the registry if this path was defined somewhere, but without success. Does anybody know what causes this problem and how to resolve it ???

From a newsgroup post: "I was able to fix the problem and the solution is very simple. Here is the procedure:
1. Open the Component Services console.
2. Click on Computers.
3. Right click on My Computer and select Properties.
4. Select the MSDTC tab and click on Tracing Options.
5. Click in sequence: Stop Session, New Session, Flush Data, OK, and OK.
6. Restart the DTC service".

Thanks for your reply Andy,
I tried that but after stopping the session it wouldn't start a new session anymore. Also resetting the logfile had no effect.
I finally solved it by sopping the DTC service, deleting the logfile and all files in the system%\system32\msdtc\trace folder. I when copied the copied the files msdtctr.mof and msdtcvtr.bat from another server. I then restarted the service and was able to start a new session in the components services console. It now seems to work.
