I am trying to install replication services. On the feature selection page the instance root directory is defaulting to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\ directory but the instance I am installing to is in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\ directory. Since it is an instance feature I figured it should be installed to the same directory as the existing feature. But if I change the instance root directory to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\ I get an error on the data directories tab of the Database Engine Configuration page that says the system database file already exists in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.{InstanceName}\MSSQL\DATA. This occurs for the master, model and MSDB .mdf and .ldf files.
Also, I have my databases (other than the system databases) on a different drive. Do I need to specify that somewhere? I don't want the location to be changed.
Thanks in advance.
