Thanks for the review. I have done the SP2 upgrade with no ill effects (but I'm in a development situation so what the hey, eh?)

Just wondering ... do you know if the MDAC update applies if you only do the Desktop Engine update? Is there a way to tell which version of MDAC you are currently running?

Thanks,

Terry

I dont have the URL handy, but MS has a MDAC component checker - should be easy to find on MSDN.

The web site to download is http://www.microsoft.com/data/download.htm#CCinfo

I wanted it too so, while I was there I thought I would make it easy for others to find.

Hope this helps and thanks Andy for the info.

Thanks both!

I downloaded the MDAC component checker tool but it seems to only handle up to 2.61. I shall keep an eye open for a new version on the MS website.

BTW: the version reported after an MSDE SP2 upgrade is MDAC 2.61.7326.6
