I have an Access 2003 Project which I connect to a SQL Server 2000 database. The Project file is on a shared directory, so I have mutiple users in the file at the same time. About 25% of the users get the above runtime error when they initially open the file. (I query a DB status table on the Main form load.) they can refresh the form by going to the design view, then back to the form view, and it will work great. I have extended the SQL connection timeout with no change. Like I said, 75% of the users have no problem, but the 25% have it happen every time.
It is more of an irration factor than anything, but does anybody have any suggestions as why it is failing?
Thanks,
Michael Lee

This means users are not connecting, I use MDB and ADO so I can check that a connection is made and send a error message when it is not.
Network, maybe...
